## Position Overview
The Operations Associate is the critical operational link at the heart of our company.
A primary focus of this role is serving as the main liaison between SyntheticFi and our key brokerage and custodian partners. In our fast-paced environment, this position offers tremendous potential for career growth. We are looking for a proactive and resourceful individual excited by the challenge of a startup, who can not only master existing workflows but also take the initiative to build and refine the operational foundation that will support our future growth.
## Key Responsibilities
- Broker & Custodian Liaison: Communicate daily with our custodian partners to ensure smooth paperwork processing, resolve discrepancies, and manage margin requirements.
- Client Onboarding & Support: Manage new client account setup, documentation, and serve as a primary point of contact for operational inquiries.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all operational activities adhere to internal policies and financial regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency, potentially by assisting with the implementation of new software or automation tools.
- New Product Contribution: Collaborate on the development of new financial products by assessing their operational feasibility, outlining required workflows, and testing implementation processes.
## Required Experience & Qualifications
- Location: must be located in the United States in Eastern Timezone or Central Timezone
- Problem-Solving: Proactive and resourceful, with a proven ability to identify and resolve operational issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Financial Knowledge: A strong foundational understanding of financial markets, with demonstrable knowledge of options and derivatives.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.) is required. Experience with brokerage platforms is highly desirable.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and a meticulous approach to handling complex financial data are non-negotiable.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex topics to clients and internal teams.
## Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a trade support or financial operations role, working with RIA custodians like Charles Schwab or Pershing.
- Technical skills: Can write SQL, create reporting dashboard, use low-code tools such as Retool and Zapier.
